Saved, baptized, church family, now what?

 

I. Fondation for growth, guidance in Christian pilgrimage.

            The Bible Peter speaks in 1:19-21

II. Personal devotion.

            A quiet time, place

                        (a) to your preacher: keep your morning for God.

                                                                call sense next Sunday in pulpit.

 

III. A place of service in the church.

            Anything--any assignment.

                        Of our Lord, washing feet

                        Teach children, visit, greet at door, make ready.

 

IV. Acceptance of any assignment (status) in life.

            So, Peter 1:13-15, referring to John 21.

            John 21 an addendum-added long after gospel written.

                        21:18 death by crucifixion

                             :21 what of John?

                             :23 what if never die?  You follow me.

            The providence of life

                        (A) crippled child "streetcar conductor asks"

                                    "you seem so happy, how?"

                                    "my father, God gives best.  I Happy, best"

 

How accept suffering.....? the mark of a christian.

                        (A) Quotation "Now I begin to be a Christian."
