Our lecture today is on Preparing the Expository Sermon. As I outlined the lesson, I thought of how I ought to have a sermon here – an expository sermon – for us to look at. Then, I remembered, I have book after book of expository sermons.

The lecture today is entitled The Bible and the Authority of Jesus Christ. I have always felt that we have to go back to the originals in order to find an absolute authority for what God had revealed to us in Holy Scripture. In this study, time and again, I ran across the avowal, that when Jesus speaks of the Bible and its authority he was speaking of the translations that were evident and used in that day.
